Pipilotti Rist's early single-channel videos - some of which were made while she was still a student - involved the manipulation and distortion of sound, speed and colour and focused on the tension between fantasy and reality. Later, her work began to encompass architectural space in multimedia environments that became increasingly immersive, involving high-definition video projections, or audio-visual installations, with psychedelic images and sounds. |

In uncensored dreams, physical and medical facts become inconsequential. Identity soars in space, becoming a Milky Way; body parts take on lives of their own.
